Our History: Serving the Community for Decades and for Decades to Come 

The Auto Group of Mt. Pleasant was established in July 2006 by original owner Frank Kirby. Prior to opening the dealership on Pickard Street, Frank built his experience in the automotive industry by owning both an independent dealership and a Ford franchise in the Big Rapids area. 

Kris Jackson’s history with the business spans decades. She began working with Frank in September 1991 at Mid Michigan Auto Sales and continued with him through the years leading up to the opening of the Mt. Pleasant location. After the new dealership was established in 2006, Kris remained a key part of the team, later rejoining Frank in January 2013 at Auto Group Leasing. Throughout her career, she has specialized in accounting and administrative operations, working behind the scenes to support the dealership’s success. 

In 2019, Frank began his transition into retirement, fully retiring in 2022. At that time, he sold the dealership to Brandon Ley and Kris Jackson. In March 2026, Kris became the sole owner of The Auto Group of Mt. Pleasant. 

With a lifelong dedication to the business and a deep understanding of its operations, Kris embraced the opportunity for full ownership without hesitation. Today, she continues to lead the dealership with the same commitment and attention to detail that have defined her career from the very beginning.
